An LED driver (LED power supply) converts mains power (220–240V AC in the UAE) into the low-voltage DC that LED modules, strips and neon need. We stock 12V constant-voltage drivers from 30W to 400W: super slim and slim indoor models, rainproof models for sheltered outdoor use and fully waterproof drivers.
LED Drivers: frequently asked questions
How do I choose the right LED driver wattage?
Add up the wattage of every LED module or strip on the circuit and choose a driver rated at least 20% higher. For example, 160W of LEDs needs a driver of 200W or more.
Indoor, rainproof or waterproof – which do I need?
Use indoor (IP20) drivers inside cabinets or buildings, rainproof drivers in sheltered outdoor locations such as behind a fascia, and waterproof drivers where the unit may be exposed to water or high humidity.
Can one driver power several signs?
Yes, as long as the total load stays within about 80% of the driver rating and the voltage matches (12V lights on a 12V driver). Long cable runs may need thicker wire to avoid voltage drop.
